We are currently looking to employ a copywriter to join our team based in Old Street, London.

What is the role?

We are looking to strengthen our Marketing/Graphics Team with the addition of a copywriter. The role will be extremely varied and appeal to candidates with an interest in engineering. It will be crucial that you can work well as part of a small, friendly team and operate across the wider business amongst members of senior management. Your ability to adapt and offer flexibility to the needs of the business is paramount.

  • Overseeing all company social media accounts
  • Writing engaging, creative innovative content for regularly scheduled posts
  • Updating the social media content plan
  • Working with colleagues to develop social media timelines coinciding with news, campaigns, or other brand messages
  • Bid writing for public sector/interdisciplinary submissions
  • Researching and compiling documents on individual construction projects
  • Write press releases when required
  • Uploading texts to the website using customer CMS
  • Producing meta text for each web page
  • Producing company CVs for use in tender submissions
  • Producing text for company project sheets
  • Undertaking general corrective prose and editing documentation
  • Producing standard tender documents
  • Producing copy for the website – news, project pages and editorial pages
  • Produce text for internal newsletter
  • Keeping logs of CVs and project sheets completed

We’d like to hear from you if you have

  • Experience in a similar role. A background in engineering journalism would be an advantage
  • Ideally a professional qualification in copywriting, editor or journalism
  • Preferably some experience in a social media marketing role
  • The ability to write and think creatively and write high-engagement social media content that reflects our brand’s voice
  • Demonstrable passion for all things social with a good awareness of the current social media landscape
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience of developing different types of copy for digital and print
  • Word/Excel/Outlook essential
  • Organised with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience in writing for web and SEO would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign would be an advantage but training can be given
