We’re pleased to announce that Beyond the Map has launched! AKT II has worked with Hilson Moran and Tyréns UK, in collaboration with VU.CITY, to develop an augmented reality and data visualisation app.
For the London Festival of Architecture, we have created Beyond the Map, an app that can show ‘hidden data’ through your phone. Through AR and data visualisation our app displays social, economic and environmental data throughout designated areas of London.
The app’s conception was developed by our computational research team, p.art., and is based around the theme of this years’ LFA – boundaries.
Our team looked into ‘soft, intangible’ boundaries, such as data and sought to answer the question of: would the visualisation of intangible data change our perception of boundaries or affect our behaviour?
Beyond the Map shows data on air pollution, wind velocity, average house prices and so much more!
