Following in the footsteps of Architects Declare, we are urging UK structural engineers to sign an open letter to the Government declaring a climate and biodiversity emergency. Supported by BuroHappold and the Happold Foundation, Structural Engineers Declare is an important initiative that AKT II wholly supports.
The construction industry plays a major part in producing energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions – which accounts for almost 40% of energy-related emissions. The carbon emissions produced has a major impact on the climate and the natural habitats of wildlife.

AKT II is committed to implementing the necessary actions outlined in the open letter and to work towards significantly reducing the carbon emissions produced from our work whilst also collaborating with clients, architects, contractors, and other engineers to work together and reduce construction waste.
