AKT II's football team wins the White Collar Factory Football Tournament, beating 17 teams to come out on top.
AKT II recently competed in the inaugural White Collar Factory (WCF) Football Tournament. The competition, held by Derwent London, saw 19 teams compete with the likes of AKT II, Egress, Spark 44 and Adobe locking horns. AKT II worked closely with Derwent London to develop and deliver the WCF concept so the tournament had more importance attached to it for our teams!
AKT II had two teams competing in the tournament; AKT II and AKTekkers. AKTekkers, captained by Andreas Egeland, had the better start to the tournament winning all of their matches comfortably but losing in the semi-final on penalties.
Meanwhile, AKT II, led by Kico Bela, had a nervous start losing and drawing their first and second game respectively. It needed a brave effort from the players to ensure that they were not going home early! Winning their final group game, AKT II qualified as best runner up.
The knockout stages of the tournament saw a rejuvenated team who went on to win their quarter-final 2-0 against Spark 44, before a victory against Derwent Maintenance Team in the semi-final set up a final showdown against Red Star Badget. AKT II went on to win the tournament with a comfortable victory in the final 3-0 with 2 goals from Kico Bela and 1 goal from Thomas Mealey. AKT II lifted the trophy and with it, the WCF bragging rights!
Overall a very well organised event which brought the WCF community event closer.
Congratulations to AKT II's teams and all of those involved in the competition!
