Civil engineers join to declare climate emergency

Civil Engineers Declare

After supporting Architects Declare and signing up to register our commitment and support to Structural Engineers Declare, BuroHappold and the Happold Foundation have turned to ask civil engineers to also join this important initiative our practice and our Infrastructure team completely supports.

UK civil engineers have joined to sign an open letter to the Government to declare a climate and biodiversity emergency. AKT II was amongst the first to sign Structural Engineers Declare and now our civil engineering team within our practice have done the same.

‘From the embryonic conception of our projects, we have sustainability at the forefront of our work. As we face a climate and biodiversity emergency, we are best placed to make a large scale change. Small steps in the right direction achieve great things and alongside other professionals within the built environment industry, we can make that change.  I am immensely proud to be part of an industry that is committed to take action and tackle the global climate crisis.’ - Dean Cadby, Director of Infrastructure at AKT II.

AKT II urges all civil engineering practices to sign the register and support Civil Engineers Declare. We thank the Happold Foundation for supporting this initiative with civilengineersdeclare.com
